Byron Ahn and Laura Kalin accept positions at Princeton

Byron Ahn (Ph.D. 2015) and Laura Kalin (Ph.D. 2014) have both accepted tenure-track positions in linguistics at Princeton University. Byron is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at Swarthmore College, while Laura is currently a post-doctoral fellow at UConn. They will be joining former department visitor Florian Lionnet (UC Berkeley) as new faculty in the department.

Kandybowicz heads to CUNY!

UCLA alumnus, Jason Kandybowicz (Ph.D. 2007, currently at the U. of Kansas) has accepted a position in syntax at the City University of New York in New York City. Jason will be joining them in the Fall as an Associate Prof, joining other alumnus, Jason Bishop (Ph.D. 2013, CSI & CUNY Grad. Center).

Burnett heads to Toronto….then CNRS!

Heather Burnett (Ph.D. 2012) who is currently a post-doctoral researcher on the Syntactic Microvariation of the Romance Languages of France project within the CLLE-ERSS will be a Banting Postdoctoral Fellow in the Sociolinguistics Lab at the University of Toronto in the Fall. Following this, in 2016, she will be taking up a permanent research scientist position at the CNRS housed in the Laboratoire de Linguistique Formelle at the Université de Paris 7 – Denis Diderot.
